"Eulàlia Borrut shows a work which is dense with plastic qualities, above all in her use of hues, with dominant tones from a rich palette, where the single-stroke-traced and open-drawn silhouette outstands but, despite this, is utterly integrated in the painted surface, as if it sprouted with the naturalness of a rhythm previously agreed with the touch that builds the work.
This sensitive spontaneity of her trace, the texture (which is not overwhelming but necessary to establish the depth of the matter-treated surface) builds a work of appealing plastic resolution. It is, indeed, Eulàlia Borrut’s work, whose way of painting stems from, I believe, sensitive intuition ending in the rational order whose fruit is the achieved painting.
This adjustment of the parts that make up the subject, the tracing exercise and the intelligent drawing, the line which allows silhouettes and other subjects and, finally, the treatment of the purely anecdotic, reveal a very feminine sensitivity, a loving need of transcendency. What is fundamental, however, is that her work is a plastic development almost without a fissure. And this plastic development of hers has introduced me to a real artist whom I did not know before due to her pictoric diversity."
